Norrmalmstorg, Stockholm, Sweden.

In August 1973 four Kreditbanken employees were taken hostage during a robbery that took place at Norrmalmstorg. While in captivity, the hostages unexpectedly developed sympathetic attitudes and loyalty to their captors. This survival phenomenon were then explored and named by a Swedish criminologist – Nils Bejerot – as Stockholm syndrome.
